Macular Holes
FAQs
It is rare for a macular hole to go away on it’s own. Most often, the best treatment option is to perform surgery.
A macular hole, when left untreated can drastically affect your central vision. This the vision that the macula is responsible for. It does not, however, affect your peripheral vision.
After the surgery, patients are required to maintain a face-down position to allow the gas bubble to press against the hole, allowing it to close itself.
All in all, Retinal Consultants of Arizona was a very positive experience for me. Little or no no wait time between tests and the staff was pleasant and helpful.
I have been a patient of Dr. Mehta for several years and he is a caring, compassionate doctor. And that goes for all the staff too.
They’ve ALWAYS been really nice and pleasant to deal with.
