Education & Honors
David Goldenberg, MD graduated from UCLA summa cum laude and from UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine with honors and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) national medical honor society. He completed his internship in internal medicine at St. Mary’s Medical Center in San Francisco, California. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at the UCLA Jules Stein Eye Institute. Dr. Goldenberg completed a two-year fellowship in medical and surgical retina at the prestigious Associated Retinal Consultants at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.
Awards, Clinical Research & Authorships
Dr. Goldenberg has published multiple peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on various topics. He has lectured at many local and national ophthalmology meetings. He has a particular interest in the surgical repair of macular holes, macular puckers, retinal detachments, and diabetic-related eye problems.
Community Service / Affiliations
Throughout his career, Dr. Goldenberg has received numerous honors and awards for his work. He is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists. He served as a past President of the Phoenix Ophthalmological Society and serves on the board of directors of the Arizona Ophthalmological Society. Dr. Goldenberg was named a Phoenix Magazine Top Doc in 2016, 2017, and 2022.
Family Life
In his spare time, Dr. Goldenberg enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, traveling, bicycling, snowboarding, hiking, and playing tennis.
