Karim Jamal, MD, retinal specialist

Karim N. Jamal, M.D. graduated from Rice University in Houston, TX with degrees in Biochemistry and Business Management. He then went to medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society and completed his degree in 2003. He returned to his hometown of Binghamton, NY for internship, and went on to residency training at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH.  Dr. Jamal completed his 2 year fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery with Texas Retina Associates in Dallas, TX in 2009. Dr. Jamal has written and contributed to several book chapters and peer-reviewed publications. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and American Society of Retina Specialists, and has been named to the Cambridge Who's Who registry of Executives, Professionals, and Entrepreneurs.  Recently, Dr. Jamal has received the AKEB Professional Achievement Award, has been named one of America's top Ophthalmologists by the CRCA, and is included in the latest edition of The Leading Physicians of the World.  He has also joined the LeadPhysician Expert Panel for consultation.
